A Little Less Laughter: Hollywood screenwriter and comic legend Buck Henry Dies at Age 89

Step Away From The Precipice: US, Iran Stand Down From Conflict. Maybe.

Ukrainian Jet Crash In Iran: Missile or Mechanical?

Nightshift is not going to open today with what’s expected from a daily news site: more coverage of the US/Iran confrontation or more stories about Harry and Meghan. Nope. Covered the former in depth the last few days and will be doing more(regrettably) on the latter in coming week. Instead, we direct your attention to the passing of one of the great comics/comedic writers of our era–the masterful, subtle, sly, dry,  very funny, Buck Henry. Henry died on the 8th at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles of a heart attack at the age of 89. He was the comedy screenwriter’s screenwriter, simultaneously a standard and an icon and he will be missed. Please click the link above to read about his amazing career, the movies he wrote that influenced your life, and the high regard in which he was held by his peers–a good reputation being perhaps the single most difficult thing to obtain in modern America, which makes him all the more impressive. Thank you, Buck for the good times. You will be missed.
